Streaks Win Close One

Galesburg defeated UT tonight 61-58. It was a game where we got down early and then fought back to take a 30-23 lead at half. In the second half we opened up a 12 point lead but hung on to win by 3.

Jamie Johnson and Sadee Hamilton came up REALLY big tonight. They combined for 27 points (Jamie 19) and 22 rebounds (Sadee 12).



It was a game in which we were unable to force turnovers with our press. UT finished with only 20 turnovers.

The win was exciting for us. We have come a long way in the last year. We were 0-5 in the first half of the conference last year, and finished the season with a 97-53 loss to Moline. As painful and humiliating as that loss was for us, it may have been the slap in the face that has shaped this years season for us.

The win leaves us in a tie with Moline in the WB6 at 6-2. Two games to go in WB6, and we are still playing important games!  Proud of the girls- they have worked hard and they really support each other. We have Bloomington on Saturday and then at Alleman in a key matchup at Alleman.
