Strategy- 5 Out Backdoor Off Deadball

I saw team run a nice backdoor action. At first I thought it was just a random action but after they scored 7 points off the same action, I realized it was a planned action. There was nothing complex about it, but it was a really great concept.

#3 is taking the ball out of bounds in the backcourt on the sideline, and entering the ball to #1. They are going vs. pressure.

#1 gets the ball and comes up the floor hard, while #3 runs parallel to them going up the floor. The rest of the players are spread.

#3 simply stops or hesitates when get at the arc. #3 then cuts backdoor and catches the ball as #1 throws bounce pass off the dribble.

As soon as #3 cuts, #2 is breaking up to wing. As I watched, they got a layup on the backdoor the first two times and then the third time a wide open three on the cut up.

This is too simple to work but the defender on #3 is not really down in a defensive position because they have either been running back or are not yet in a defensive stance. This set would be worth trying whether the team is up pressing or back in a half court set. Simple but effective.
