Streaks Advance With Sectional Win

Galesburg came out on fire hitting 6 of the first 8 three point shots. After going up 30-19 at half, it became the Jamie Johnson show in the third quarter. Jamie finished with a game high and career high 25 points.

Our girls really came out with a lot of energy in the first quarter and created numerous turnovers. We were not very efficient in the second quarter on offense but we certainly were in the third quarter. Our three point guards- Tai Peachey, Baylie Boyer, and Paige Klinck all did a great job running our offense in the third quarter.

The energy we played with is expressed by the quote from Coach Cooper-

“The one thing they do a great job of that people don’t realize is they really wear you out,” Ottawa coach Mike Cooper said. “They kept pushing it and it wore on us and wore on us. Before you know it you are down seven points, then 15 then 19 and it really adds up.”
“They are so hard to simulate in practice and we did the best we could to get ready for them, but you can’t really prepare for them,” Cooper said. “You almost need a group of boys out there to match up against to really let you know what it’s going to be like.”
