Why Galesburg? Not a lot of teens are apt to say they want to end up in their hometown. What brought you back to Galesburg? What do you like about living/working in Galesburg as an adult?
I moved to Fort Myers, Florida after college and Hurricane Ian hit. After that, I decided I never want to experience another hurricane so I came back home & started teaching.
Everyone wants to move away after college but I learned from my experience that I couldn’t find the small town sense of community elsewhere. Galesburg is home and teaching here allows me to be part of the community in an entirely different way that I thoroughly enjoy.
