Big Win Over Springfield

Tonight we pulled off a HUGE upset over #3 rated Springfield. We were down 20-9 after one quarter but came back to be down 35-32 at half. At the start of the second half, they scored the first 6 point to take a 41-32 lead. What happened at that point was incredible- we outscored them 28-4 for the rest of the third quarter to take a 60-45 lead. During that stretch we hit 6 three pointers. We hung on to win the game 84-79.



What is incredible thru their first three games Springfield had allowed 20, 25 and 26 points. So for us to score 84 points is incredible. I will have to do the stats later but in the third our press was incredible. Myra Diggins and Chloe Anderson were great denying the ball to Medley (their star point guard), and Sharron Diggins and Allison Mangieri guarded her most of the night. We were able to create a lot of turnovers.

Streaks were led by Jessica Lieber with 24 points, Sharron Diggins with 20, Myra Diggins 12, Sadee Hamilton 12, and Paige Klinck 9.

Great win, exciting night at Thiel Gym. I think our 13 players were a difference in terms of maintaining energy.
