Massey
- What has impressed you the most about the 8th grade team?

Coach Harden- With the start of practice, this group has impressed me with how much they remember from last season. It makes it easy for me when I am reteaching it. There are 6 new players on the team and they have been quick learners to the things that are being taught. This team does a great job of listening and executing. They are very coachable. This group also does a fantastic job of being leaders to one another and to the 7th graders. They are quickly willing to help someone out who does not understand something.

Massey
- What have you been focusing on in practices?

Coach Harden- We have been focusing defensively in practice on keeping our match up in front of us and always being in the correct help defense position. Offensively we have been focusing on running our plays efficiently, but also going and being aggressive out of the play if you have a scoring opportunity. Consistency is what they need to improve on the most whether it is making layups, making free throws, setting good screens every time, boxing out everytime, etc. With it being the beginning of the season, I expect to not be as sharp as we could be, as we are getting back into the swing of things. As the weeks go on, we want to show more consistency in every area as possible, and be playing our best basketball by the time playoffs come.

Massey
- Is the team excited about finally getting to play games?

Coach Harden- We are extremely excited to play our first games! This group of girls love to play basketball and love to play with each other! We have been taking it one day at a time, but we are also counting down the days til our season starts opener vs Orion! In the same week we also play Sherrard and Canton, who have good teams. We are excited for opening week.

Massey
- What has impressed you most about the 7th grade team?

Coach Lingafelter- With practice starting this group has really impressed us with their energy and dedication to putting work in.

Massey- What has been your focus in practice?

Coach Lingafelter
- Something that we have been focusing on is our offensive skill work and getting our foot work right. The area we would like to improve in the most would be our defense and really working on communication.

Massey- Are they excited to finally get to play games?

Coach Lingafelter- Everyone is very excited for our first game. The girls ask us every day if we can scrimmage yet.
