Ted Lasso- He Can Coach- Part II

Ted Lasso show is very funny and very entertaining, but the guy knows coaching. Lots of great players and coaches agree with him. 

PART II

Ted Lasso- Don't sell yourself short. If anything sell yourself tall and get it altered later. 

Caitlin Clark- In second grade I wrote on a piece of paper, get drafted in the WNBA.

Ted Lasso- You know the happiest animal on Earth is? It's a goldfish. You know why? It's got a 10 second memory.

Coach K- Go onto the next play.

Ted Lasso- If you care about someone, and you got a little love in your heart, there ain't nothing you can't get through together.

Coach K- All of us alone are weaker than if all of us are together. Five fingers are weak but put them together into a fist and they have power. 

Ted Lasso- I think thing come into our lives to help us get from one place to a better place. 

Tony Bennett- If you can learn to use adversity right, it will buy you a ticket to a place you could not have gone any other way. 

Ted Lasso- It's funny to think of all the thing in one's life that can happen just 'cause a fellas shoelace comes undone. 

John Wooden- We will begin by learning how to put our socks on properly, and how to tie our shoes. (True story, the first thing they did as freshmen at UCLA.)

Ted Lasso- I believe in hope. I believe in believe.

Pat Summit- Attitude is a choice. Believe in yourself. 

Ted Lasso- Explaining the offside rule in soccer, "I am going to put it the same way the US Supreme Court did back in 1964 when they defined pornography. It ain't easy to explain, you know it when you see it."

Jim Valvano- I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for what I was thinking. He said of course not. So I said to him, "I think you stink." He gave me a technical. You can't trust officials. 

Ted Lasso- I promise you there is something worse out there than being sad and that's being alone and being sad. Ain't no on in this room alone.

Walter Payton- We are stronger together than we are alone. 

Ted Lasso- You know how they say that "youth is wasted on the young"? Well, I say don't let wisdom of age be wasted on you. 

Dick Bennett- We cannot accept in victory what we would not accept in defeat.

Ted Lasso- There's two buttons I never like to hit. And that's panic and snooze.

Ralph Waldo Emerson- Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. 

Part I
I always love a great clinic, the opportunity to learn from the best coaches in the sport. Ted Lasso doesn't do a lot with X/O's, but he deals with the MORE important things- team work, goal setting, handling success, handling adversity, and so much more. 

I am taking some of Ted Lasso's great quotes, and matching them up with quotes from some of the greats in sports. It is quickly evident that Ted Lasso totally understands how to be a great coach!!

Ted Lasso- I do love a locker room. It smells like potential.

Pat Summit- Teamwork is what makes common people capable of uncommon results.

Ted Lasso- I think that you might be so sure that you're one in a million, that sometimes you forget that out there you're just one in 11.

Pat Riley- Being part of success is more important than being personally indispensable.

Ted Lasso- Your body is like day-old rice. If it ain't warmed up properly, something really bad could happen. 

Mark Twain- Whenever I feel the urge to exercise, I lay down until the feeling passes. 

Ted Lasso- If God would have wanted games to end in a tie, she wouldn't have invented numbers. 

Vince Lombardi- Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. 

Ted Lasso- Success is not about wins and losses. It's about helping these young fellows be the best versions of themselves, on and off the field.

John Wooden- Success is peace of mind that is the direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.

Ted Lasso- The harder you work, the luckier you get.

Vince Lombardi- The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender. 

Ted Lasso- We're gonna call this drill "The Exorcist" cause it's all about controlling possession. 

Bob Knight- Victory favors the team making the fewest mistakes.  

Ted Lasso- You two knuckleheads have split our locker room in half. And when it comes to locker rooms, I like 'em just like my mother's bathing suits. I only wanna see 'em in one piece, you hear?

Pat Summit- Teamwork really is a a form of trust. Teamwork is a lot like being part of a family. It comes with obligations, entanglements, headaches, and quarrels. The rewards are worth the cost. 

Ted Lasso- We all know speed is important. But being able to stop and change directions quickly? Well, that's like Kanye's 808's and Heartbreak. It don't get nearly enough credit. 

John Wooden- Be quick but don't hurry.

Ted Lasso- Boy, I love meeting people's moms. It's like reading an instruction manual as to why they're nuts. 

Eric Berne (Psychologist)- People are born princes and princesses until society makes them into frogs.
