If you don’t have Brad Stevens’ Side OB in, you need to put it in. There are counters that you can add, but the basic play is a game winner.
If you want to see it in action, go to Tulsa Basketball on Twitter, you will see it as a game winner vs. Wichita State and this year vs. Western Kentucky.
Diagram #1- #5 doesn’t need to screen for #2, but they just need to exchange. #2 must cut hard to the ball. If their defender does not cover, you may just pass into #2 for an open three (highly unlikely). #1 cuts hard like they are going to the corner but screens for #4. #4 cuts away from the ball.
Diagram #2- #3 will skip the ball to #4. As the pass is in the air, #2 plants and comes back off #5’s screen.
If you have not seen this play executed mulitiple times in pro and college games- you don’t watch enough basketball!!!
