Coaches’ Corner- Counter for Zoom Action

Everybody runs some kind of zoom action for a shooter. This is a counter to the zoom action- taking the shooter the opposite way.

Figure 1- This the start of the regular zoom action.

Figure 2- This is the finish of the zoom action.

Figure 3- This is the start of the counter. 

Figure 4- #2 starts to head to the ball like they would in the normal zoom action. #4 skips the ball to #5 as the cut out. 

Figure #5- #2 reverses direction and goes for handoff from #5. #2 can get open and the change of direction, and X5 will be slow going out to cover 5 in the corner.

Note- This provides a great opportunity for a fake hand off action.
