What were your favorite classes and teachers at GHS?
American studies, chemistry, and gym class( I know, typical jock ! Haha!), were probably my favorite classes in high school. I had a lot of favorite teachers, Mr.Dave Peck, Mr.Tim Johnson, Miss Marla Clay, Mr. Gene Fisher, and Mr. Mick Hickey just to name a few!
What are some of your favorite memories?
Our 1997-1998 basketball season is obviously the top memory from GHS for me. It was a special year, with a lot of special people and lifelong friends that resulted in a second place finish at state! Going to dances, football games, after game get togethers at the Foote’s house, just the over all care free and stress free life we all got to have during high school are some of the other best memories!
What did you do after high school?
Right after high school I attended Carl Sandburg for 2 years and then started coaching basketball!
What has been your career?
I coached basketball for 10 years at Knoxville high school and Elmwood high school. Got in to broadcasting 4 years ago for WGIL and am now the color commentator for GHS boys and girls basketball and work for Hy-Vee.
What are you up to these days?
As I mentioned before,I’m the color commentator for GHS boys and girls basketball and I also work at Hy-Vee. I live in Knoxville with my girlfriend Laci, with 2 terrific kids Marli(16) and Ryder(8).
What advice do you have for today’s athletes?
Enjoy every second of high school and take nothing for granted! High school sports will be some of the funnest times of your lives, enjoy it and embrace it! You never know when it can be taken from you or will end! Things can change in the blink of an eye!
