Streaks Defeat Metamora

Streaks jumped to a large half-time lead and upped it to a 29 point lead in the early fourth quarter. Streaks then hung on to a 66-45 win. All the Streaks got to play. Katee Lingafelter and Macy Steck came off the bench in the fourth quarter and drained threes.

Shayli Florine led the Streaks in scoring with 17 points, also in double figures was Haley Kelso with 11. Casey Williams and Sabrina Clay each added 8 points. Sabrina and Shayli pulled down 7 rebounds apiece, while Kailyn Boydstun dished out 5 assists.

Galesburg improved in two critical areas- turnovers and fouls- but still have to get better. We turned the ball over 19 times and forced 23 turnovers. We committed 20 fouls which resulted in 20 ft attempts for Metamora.

Tonight (Friday), Galesburg plays East Peoria which enters the game undefeated in their first two games with impressive wins vs. Peoria Christian and Alleman. EP is led by SIU recruit, 6'1" point guard, Kylie Grebelhausen.

One of the concerns with our format is whether the better teams are matched up. Headed into this weekends play, the following teams have not lost- UT (1-0), Freeport (0-0), Illini West (2-0), Springfield (1-0), Dunlap (2-0).

UT will eventually play Springfield, Dunlap, and East Peoria.
Springfield will eventually play Dunlap and UT.
East Peoria will eventually play UT and Freeport.
Freeport will eventually play Dunlap and East Peoria.
Dunlap will eventually play Freeport, Springfield, and UT.
Illini West will not play any of the undefeated team.

So what would be the most undefeated teams we could end up with? The most that could end up being undefeated would be three.
