Albert and Elbert Kimbrough lived lives that inspired many, many people. At Galesburg High School, they were two of the all-time best athletes. They went onto excel athletically after graduating. They continued to be leaders and role models throughout their life’s. May they both rest in peace.

Here are stories written about Albert and Elbert…

This includes the letter from the committee recommending the naming, describing Albert and Elbert’s impact on the Galesburg community.

This describes the undefeated football team in the fall of 1956. It is considered as the best GHS football team of all-time. The Kimbrough’s were their stars.

The 1957 Silver Streaks lost to Collinsville in the Elite 8. The team started four African-Americans.
