Friday Fotos- Our Tulsa

Tulsa in Winter-
Some retired people go to Florida and others to Arizona. The Massey’s chose a January trip to Tulsa. This is Minnie and Nellie outside our Air BnB with downtown skyline in the background.

Downtown Tulsa-
Tulsa has an impressive skyline in the downtown.

Downtown Tulsa From Our Place-
We stayed a half mile from downtown.

Great Food-
One of our many go to place is a Mexican restaurant just blocks for “our place.”

Route 66-
The restaurant is located on the original Route 66.

Tulsa University-
Our AirBnB was about a half mile from Tulsa. Great for the dogs and I to go for a walk. This picture is taken at night with the buildings outlined with blue lights.

Light of TU-
The entire winter, they have areas with the trees lit up.

Tulsa Practice-
What does a retired coach do- goes and watches the TU team practice. I love seeing all the different ways that they teach basketball. Yes, I am taking notes.

Golden Hurricane Tradition-
Missouri Valley Championship trophies from the Nolan Richardson era. As a Drake fan, it is always nice to see something that lets you know that Bradley didn’t win.

Bill Self-
Bill Self and his NCAA team.

Game Night-
As director of scouting, Allen puts together a scout tape that the coaches show to the booster club before the games.

Huddle Up-
A perk on game night is that we get good seats and can almost look into the huddle.

First Church-
Allen’s apartment is about 3 blocks from the Presbyterian Church. It is the church that Rev. Norm Myer grew up attending. We have enjoyed being able to attend some services.

Oral Roberts University-
One of the sites that we toured was ORU which is out on the south edge of Tulsa.

Praying Hands-
At the entrance to ORU are praying hands. Legend has it that they clap at midnight. We will never know, I am asleep by then.

Union HS-
Another basketball fix was going to Union HS for a girls tourney. It has the most impressive HS basketball arena that I have ever seen.

Woody Guthrie Museum-
I am not a music man but you combine it with history and it is fascinating.

Black Wall St. Museum-
This is one of the most interesting and powerful museums that I have been too.

Marshall’s Brewery-
You can’t beat this, it is just a two block walk from our place.

Friendly Place-
It is great place when the bartender knows your choice drink and your name. I guess it is my version of “Cheers.”

Dog Friendly-
Even Minnie needs a place to go relax.

Game Day-
We love visiting Allen and Tulsa. For us, everyday is game day!!
