Shooting Principles
- Good shooters and great shooters are not born that way. They make themselves that way.
- Everyone can make themselves into a good shooter. It takes work.
- Players can go from being a good shooter to a great shooter but it takes even more work.
- The secret of becoming a good shooter is repetition.
- The secret of a good shooter becoming a great shooter is repetition.
- If a player can’t meet the percentages to be considered a good shooter, it tells me that the player has failed to put in the off-season reps.
- Most psychologists say it takes 10,000 reps to become an expert. That should be the off-season shooting goal.
- Players who cannot become at least a good free throw shooter (70%) at some point becomes a liability for good teams.
- Players who cannot become at least a good three point shooter (33%) probably won’t play on championship teams.
- How a player shoots tells me about what their off-season commitment has been!
