Coaches’ Corner- OB Creating Confusion

This baseline OB is designed to create confusion with multiple cuts and multiple screens. Three different players make basket cuts, and one player comes off split like action and a screen for a three.

Figure #1- The first “confusion action” is #3 cutting to weakside block off a screen from #5. In the meantime, #2 is cutting and timing the cut to go right off #3 as #3 cuts. So #2 by timing the cut is actually cutting off both #3 and #5. 

Figure #2- After screening, #5 tries to seal a defender and cut back to the basket on the weakside block. #2 continues to cut off #4’s screen. #4 slips the screen and goes to the basket.
