Today’s Streaks Alumni Profile features Phil Goodman from the GHS class of 1982.
Phil was an extraordinarily talented multi-sport athlete at GHS. He didn’t just “play” three sports, he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball.
It was great to be able to catch up with Phil.
Sports/Activities at GHS
Played basketball, baseball and football.
Favorite Memories from GHS and Galesburg
Enjoyed all my teachers, can’t say that I had certain favorite above anyone. Some of the best memories, had to do with sports . Football playoffs, basketball tournaments and baseball. Have a lot of memories of the players that I had a chance to play with and against . Wouldn’t change a thing. Had some very good coaches coming up.
Education After GHS
Scholarship to Northeastern Oklahoma State University where I played football and baseball . Graduated from Northeastern with a B.S. in criminal justice and safety.
Career
Eight years as an adult probation officer. 4 years as a juvenile detention counselor then started working for Remy , a company in the automotive industry as an engineering tech for 22 years. Company bought out , so l started working in the oil and gas industry as a quality assurance technician. Currently working for Oil States Valve here in Oklahoma City.
What Are You Up To Today
Married with two daughters, both graduated from the University of North Carolina.
Advice to Today’s Students/Athletes
To the students/ athletes get as much education as you can and strive to do your best. Best of luck to you all. I can say I’ve been blessed to see all the changes the world has made.
