Streaks Alumni Profile- Mike Yeager 1983

Today’s Streaks Alumni Profile features Mike Yeager from the GHS class of 1983.

Mike was exceptional basketball player and exceptional student while at GHS. Mike played varsity basketball for three years, on three very good teams. His senior year the Streaks were ranked as one of the top teams in Illinois. They lost to Richwoods in overtime in the Regional Championship.

It is great catching up with Mike.

Advice to Today’s Students/Athletes

First of all today’s students and athletes at GHS are very fortunate to have grown up in Galesburg, Illinois.  The values and life lessons I learned growing up in Galesburg have been a foundational part of every success I have been fortunate enough to experienced in life and helpful in overcoming life’s inevitable obstacles we all face.  Whatever todays students and athletes decide to pursue after high school I would encourage then to strive for being the best at what they do and approach everything with a positive attitude.  It’s a great time to be a high school kid heading into the next chapter(s) in life and the future is bright for todays younger generation.  Go Streaks!
