Here is an old program for a Galesburg game- January 14, 1955 at Galesburg’s Steele Gym. The game pitted Northwest Conference rivals, Galesburg and East Moline. The program sold for 5 cents with proceeds going to the G-Club.
The program featured profiles of assistant coaches, John Thiel and Bernard Fleener. The varsity was coached by Frank Adams. The starting lineup was seniors, Gene Youngquist and Carroll Fay, and juniors, Mike Owens, Russ Lind, and Bill Graning.
The 1955 Silver Streaks would advance to the Elite 8. They finished with a record of 18-12. They beat Paris in the Sweet 16 game at Huff Gym before losing to Elgin 66-60 in OT.
