Streaks Basketball Alum: Casey Piggee 1981

What were your favorite classes/teachers at GHS?

My favorite  class was high school  physical  education because  it introduced  me to so many different  sports.  All my  teachers had a positive  influence in my life to where I knew i wanted to teach and impact  young lives.

What are some of your favorite memories from GHS?

My favorite memory was beating  the number one basketball team in the state, the Quincy Blue Devils and winning  the Western Big 6 Conference in baseball. Also winning  the Turkey  Day tournament  and Christmas  Tournament  in Bloomington  Normal in the same year.

What did you do after high school?

After attending SIC and Carl Sandburg I finished  my education and baseball career at Norteastern State University in Tahlequah Oklahoma receiving  a masters degree in college teaching.

I was selected  all American  in my senior  year and also met my wife.

What did you do for a career?

I taught in the Tulsa Public school  system for 32 years.

What are  you up to these days?

Now I am enjoying the retirement  life playing golf, tennis and hanging  out with my wife and our dogs.

Advice for present day Streaks?

I would  tell future  Silver Streaks to listen to your coaches, practice like you want to play and be a good teammate.
