Streaks with Huge Opening Win

Galesburg jumped to 48--33 lead and never looked back. Absolutely crisp ball movement, fastbreak basketball, and pressure defense combined for a great night. Jamie Johnson and Baylie Boyer combined for 12 assists. And Sadee Hamilton came down with 14 rebounds. Sadee had an unbelievable game- she scored, she rebounded, and she had great assists.

After last year's tough opening round loss at Galesburg to Geneseo, this was something the girls certainly enjoyed. After you have experienced adversity, you enjoy success even more.

Megan Young has been battling illness but was determined to play. I certainly was not going to be the one to tell Megan I didn't think she could play. She is as tough as they come. And sure enough, she drilled a big three in the first half. I think attitudes and effort like that are an inspiration to her teammates!!

We will have a very tough game on Thursday vs. Sterling. They are extremely well coached. I hope as many fans follow us on Thursday. I honestly think Galesburg had more fans at Geneseo than Geneseo did. Thanks Galesburg fans!! Great night, fun night-- and we get to practice again on Wednesday.
